Privacy Policy
CraftMargin is operated by the legal person identified in our commercial transaction disclosure. This policy describes what we collect and what we do not.
The short version
- Before launch, the only personal data we hold is the email address you give us.
- We do not sell, rent, or share it with anyone for marketing.
- Our analytics are cookieless and do not track you across sites.
- Email us and we will delete everything we hold about you.
What we collect
1. Your email address (only if you submit it)
When you request early access we store the email address you enter and which plan you clicked (waitlist or founding member). We use it for two things: to tell you when the beta opens, and to tell you when we launch. Nothing else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Form submissions are delivered to us through Web3Forms, which passes the message to our inbox. Web3Forms acts as a service provider for this submission flow, and its privacy policy describes its own processing. We also use Vercel for hosting and cookieless analytics. These providers may process data outside Japan; we select providers and contracts appropriate to the data involved and disclose material changes here.
2. Anonymous usage statistics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read, and which buttons get clicked. It is cookieless, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you to other websites. We cannot identify individual visitors from it. See Vercel's privacy policy.
3. What we deliberately do NOT collect
- Your Etsy password. We will never ask for it and there is nothing to enter it into.
- Your buyers' personal data. When the product ships, the CSV importer is designed to keep totals, fees, and product lines and to discard buyer names, addresses, and contact details. We do not want your customers' information and will not store it.
- Payment card details. If and when we charge for the product, a payment processor handles card data directly. We never see or store card numbers.
- Advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. There are none on this site.
Where your data is held
This site is hosted on Vercel and form submissions use Web3Forms. These providers may process data outside Japan. We use the transfer mechanism and contractual safeguards required by applicable law. If a provider or processing location materially changes, we will update this policy before the change applies where required.
How long we keep it
Your email address is kept until you ask us to remove it, or until 24 months after launch if you never became a user — whichever comes first. Analytics data is aggregated and retained according to Vercel's retention period.
Your rights
Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. You do not need to cite a regulation and we will not make you justify the request. Email hello@craft-margin.com and we will action it within 30 days. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California you additionally have the statutory rights granted by the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children
This service is intended for people running a business and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, if you are on our list, tell you by email before the change affects you.
